Congratulations to the 2014 Maryland High School Chess Champion: Kevin Wang (2427), an 11th grader at Winston Churchill High School who earned 5/5 points in the HS Championship section. The HS Champion will receive the 2014 MCA High School Chess Champion Stipend of up to $500 to represent Maryland at the Denker Tournament of High School Champions & will receive free entry to MCA’s Maryland Open on April 25-27.

Congratulations to the 2014 Maryland Middle School Chess Co-Champions: Sahil Sinha (2066), a 7th grader at Forest Oak Middle School; Andrew Mao (1764), an 8th grader at Tilden Middle School; & Meghana Bhanuprasad (1712), a 6th grader at Dunloggin Middle School—all of whom earned 4/5 points in the MS Championship section. The MS Co-Champions will receive free entry to MCA’s Maryland Open on April 25-27. The winner of a Blitz playoff among the 3 Co-Champions, Sahil Sinha will receive the 2014 MCA Middle School Chess Champion Stipend of up to $500 to represent Maryland at the Barber Tournament of K-8 Champions.
