Sports Outreach Institute is hosting a Chess Extravaganza on National Chess Day, featuring a casual and fun-filled day of chess featuring guest speaker Robert Katende from Uganda (the coach in Disney+ movie "Queen of Katwe"). Feel free to come for some or all of our events. This is family friendly and we welcome beginners, enthusiasts, as well as experienced players.

Activities include:

• Training session and Simultaneous Exhibition (morning)
• UNRATED Chess Tournament (afternoon, 1pm)
• Book signing and hearing from Robert Katende

The Chess Tournament is UNRATED and USCF Membership is NOT required.

Tournament starts at 1pm. Time Control 25min + 5sec increment. 4 rounds Swiss System. Trophy and medal prizes.
