The Atlantic Chess Association in partnership with Phoenix Chess Club is proud to organize the Northern VA Spring Invitational Tournament.
Note: Caissachess tournament registration page will have more up to date information than what is posted on the US Chess TLA.
This is a FIDE rated Round Robin tournament.
7 Rounds. Eight Players per section. Must have a FIDE rating. No unrated players allowed.
NOTE: April 2026 US Chess Ratings will be used for forming sections and for pairings. The organizer reserves the right to use a different rating system/conversion for any specific players or section as appropriate.
Must play all rounds. No byes allowed. No exceptions.
Playing schedule:
Friday April 17 - Round 1 (6 PM)
Saturday April 18: Round 2 (10 AM), Round 3 (4 PM)
Sunday April 19 - Round 4 (10 AM), Round 5 (4 PM)
Monday April 20 - REST DAY
Tuesday April 21: Round 6 (10 AM), Round 7 (4 PM)
Tuesday April 21 is the day off for schools.
Player Limit: 32. Registration will close as soon as we reach the capacity of 32 players.
Entry fee: $110 till 04/07, $125 on or after 04/08

All games are G/90;+30
Forfeit Time (All Sections): 30 minutes
Pairing Table:
Rd 1: 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5.
Rd 2: 8-5, 6-4, 7-3, 1-2.
Rd 3: 2-8, 3-1, 4-7, 5-6.
Rd 4: 8-6, 7-5, 1-4, 2-3.
Rd 5: 3-8, 4-2, 5-1, 6-7.
Rd 6: 8-7, 1-6, 2-5, 3-4.
Rd 7: 4-8, 5-3, 6-2, 7-1.
Boards and pieces will be provided. Please bring a pen to write and a chess clock if you have it. Players must know how to set up their own clock.
No Electronic Notation Devices are allowed in any section. Strict policy in place for cell phones and all electronic devices.
Withdrawals are subject to a 10% processing fee. Full credit can be used for any future ACA tournament.
