Date and time:  Saturday, June 27th, 2026, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. (Kindly request to arrive by 10:30am to give your players time to settle and get instructions, especially if this is their first tournament)

 

Location:  Cafeteria - Early B. Wood Middle School at 14615 Bauer Dr, Rockville, MD, 20853

 

Sections:  K-8, K-5, and K-3.

Time Control and Rounds:  4SS (G/25;d5), Game in 25 minutes with a 5-second delay. This is a dual-rated event which will have an effect on both the Regular USCF ratings and Quick USCF ratings.

 

1st Round - 11:00 am 

2nd Round - 12:10 am (15 minutes lunch break after 2nd round).

3rd Round - 1:30 pm

4th Round - 2:40 pm

 

Entry Fee:

*  $30 Early registration for RCC non-members – Available until June 24th.

*  $25 early registration for RCC members. Available until June 24th.  (Club membership will be verified at check-in).

*  $40 after June 24th.  Members and non-members. 

 

Prizes:  Trophies to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place in each section.  USCF tiebreaks will be used to determine the final placement in case of multiple people having the same score.

 

Free parking. 

 

Food choices:  A shopping center and variety of restaurants across the street. 

 

No-Refund Deadline:  Once the first round is paired or begins, no refunds or credit are issued.  No-shows forfeit their entry fees entirely.

 

On-site registration MAY be subject to an automatic 1st round "bye", or out of ordinary pairings.

 

Forfeit of the first round will result in withdrawal from the tournament (Unless you notify the TD in advance).

 

We provide chess sets for all players but may not have enough clocks.  If you have a chess clock, please bring it.
