Location:  Early B. Wood Middle School 14615 Bauer Dr, Rockville, MD, 20853

Time Control:  (G/30;+5 Inc)

Prizes:  The number of prizes based on 50 fully paid entries.

Premier – 1st Place $250, 2nd Place $170 (Class:  U2100 $80, U1900 $80)

U1600    – 1st Place $100, 2nd Place $80 (Class:  U1400 $50, U1000 $45, U600 $40)

2 Sections:  Premier (Minimum 1500 rating to play) and U1600

*NOTE:  In order to play in the Premier section, players must have a USCF rating of at least 1500.  A player can still join the Premier section if their unpublished (live) rating is over 1500, even if their monthly rating is not 1500 yet.  The tournament director has the option to use a provisionally rated player's live rating (regardless of whether it is higher or lower than the players' official rating) for pairings purposes and section eligibility. 

Rounds Time:

Round 1:  1200 PM

Round 2:   1:15 PM

Round 3:  2:30 PM

Round 4:  3:45 PM

Entry Fee:

Free entry for GMs/IMs/FMs but $45 deducted from prizes.  (Email me at rockvillechessclub@gmail.com to register) Must play all rounds.

RCC Members:                                   $40 (Must show membership card as proof)

Non-Club members:                          $45

Regular Walk-up registration:           $55

• No-Refund Deadline:  Once the first round is paired or begins, no refunds or credit are issued.  No-shows forfeit their entry fees entirely.
• On-site registration MAY be subject to an automatic 1st round "bye", or out of ordinary pairings.
• Forfeit of the first round will result in withdrawal from the tournament (Unless you notify the TD in advance).
• We provide chess sets for all players but may not have enough clocks.  If you have a chess clock, please bring it.

Food choices:  A shopping center and variety of restaurants across the street.

Byes:  Players may request one half-points bye.  All byes must be committed to before the start of the Second round.

Participant Limit:  The total number of registrations is limited to 50 players.

Electronic Device Policy:

·         Possession of electronic devices that is turned on or makes a noise:  This will result in forfeiture of the game.

·         Players that are found with Possession of electronic devices that is turned off:

First violation:  2-minute time penalty, not exceeding half of the remaining time on the clock for the current time control.

Second violation:  Forfeiture of the game.
